Beyond the Blue Caves: The Captain’s Guide to Paxos & Antipaxos
Quick Guide: A private boat trip to Paxos from Corfu typically takes 8 hours, covering the Blue Caves and Voutoumi Beach. It is the best way to avoid the 200-person tour boat crowds and access the hidden caves that large ferries cannot reach.
Most visitors to Paxos see the Blue Caves from the window of a crowded ferry. They snap a photo, and move on. To truly experience the Ionian, you must stop the engine, drop the anchor, and dive in.
The "10 AM Rule": Beating the Ferries
The secret to Paxos is timing. The large commercial tour boats from Corfu Port adhere to a strict schedule, usually arriving at the Blue Caves between 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM. The water churns, the caves echo with loudspeakers, and the magic fades.
On your private cruise, we depart early. By arriving at the caves at 10:00 AM, we often have them entirely to ourselves. The water is still, the light penetrates deep into the limestone, and the silence is absolute.

Skipper's Secret: The Ypapanti Cave & Tripitos Arch
Most tours stop at the first big cave. We go further. The Ypapanti Cave is deeper, darker, and totally inaccessible to the large ferries due to its narrow entrance. We back our boat right inside.
On the way down, we also pass the Tripitos Arch (Kamara), a natural stone bridge standing 20 meters tall. It is often missed by standard tours, but it is one of the most majestic geological formations in the Ionian.
Voutoumi Beach: The "Caribbean" of Greece
While the Blue Caves get the fame, Voutoumi Beach on Antipaxos steals the heart. Accessible only by boat, the waters here are a startling shade of turquoise that rivals the Maldives.
Large ferries cannot approach the shore closely. With our private vessels, we navigate into the shallows, allowing you to step directly from the swim platform into crystal-clear water.
Mesovrika: The Captain's Secret
Just south of Voutoumi lies a smaller, often overlooked cove called Mesovrika. It creates a natural amphitheater of white pebbles and cypress trees. This is where the locals go.
At Mesovrika, the water is calmer and the depth is perfect for snorkeling. Because it lacks a large dock, it remains exclusively the domain of private yachts and small boats. It is the definition of "Zero Friction" luxury.
Logistics: Distance & Comfort
The journey from our base in Corfu (or Lefkimmi) to Paxos takes approximately 60-90 minutes depending on sea conditions. Our boats are designed for this open-sea crossing, featuring deep-V hulls for stability and ample shade for comfort.
